The other day I met a construction prophet who reaffirmed what we tell our clients ALL the time.
He said that on-site, they SUBMIT CLAIMS AND NOTICES FOR EVERYTHING.
I explained that clients often say they don’t like doing this because it comes across as aggressive or upsetting.
The response from the construction prophet was…
“They’re going to go out of business.”
He said that if your concern is not upsetting YOUR client then you will go out of business. Being in construction means you have to protect yourself contractually NO MATTER WHAT.

- SUBMIT ALL VARIATIONS
- FOLLOW UP ON NOTICES AND VARIATIONS
YOUR CLIENT DOESN’T CARE IF YOU SUBMIT DOCUMENTS…
They are MORE LIKELY to RESPECT YOU.
And REMEMBER by submitting notices you are building a body of evidence if there is a dispute.
